  • Comments Thread For: Fury: Hearn Was Trying To Protect Joshua By Putting Whyte in The Way

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is now without any mandatory obligations, after Alexander Povetkin knocked out Dillian Whyte on Saturday night at Matchroom's Fight Camp. Whyte, who held the mandatory position, was well ahead in the fight when a single uppercut knocked him out cold in the fifth round.

Made no odds, you weren't giving Whyte the fight anyways so it's all mute...

Am a Fury fan sometimes you have to take what he says with a pinch of salt. If Hearn is trying to use Whyte as a road block then he wouldn't agree a deal with you and Joshua for a TWO fights deal. Fact is Whyte was due his chance due to the protection the WBC offered Wilder, you inherit Wilder's mess, that issue has gone away for now. Lets hope Whyte v Povetkin 2 doesn't happen by the end of this year because we all would be back where we are. Which was Whyte deserves his shot at the belt.

Thats what i don't get. He said he decides who he fights. Sorry but your fan girls can lick that up, but as a champion you cannot pick and choose your battles. You fight the best, not segway then when they are your mandatory. I beginning to see a different Fury to the one i like now. He is now sounding more like Wilder who did everything to avoid Whyte, and now that Whyte got KTFO they see it as a victory for them, fact is when it comes to fighting Whyte they weren't that keen.

Bull shyt, Fury was trying to protect himself when he refused to fight Dillian Whyte for any amount. Fury threatened to give mauricio sulaiman back the belt if he was forced to fight the WBC mandatory.

Keep in mind, Fury has never fought one single mandatory in his life. He beat klitschko, popped dirty for PEDs and then flat refused to do the already signed rematch. Fury comes out to beat a one dimensional hype job, fights two nobodies, knocks out the hype job in a rematch and now wants to beat up the guy he already beaten twice. That's the real Tyson Fury, everything else is BS chit chat.

I don't understand Fury's ranting here. Whyte has been WBC mandatory even before Fury got the opportunity to become the WBC champion.

Fury who hasn't depended a legit belt in his entire career but wanted to duck mandatory, Whyte, by requesting for a franchise position which was turned down by WBC. A champion with zero defence of the title seeking for to be protected! What have Hearn and AJ have to do with that?

Fury is a con artist, be fortunately became a champion because Wilder offered him the opportunity and all his is looking for now is a way to cash out and probably retire from the sport.

Fury is just pointing out the facts. He's the man in the division, and if anyone wants to call themselves a champion, they have to go through him.

Fury has made no secret that he's fighting Wilder again (still a top 2/3 HW) and then is fighting Joshua (a top 2/3 HW)

              What's the problem here exactly?

If there is a God, somebody knocks this ****** out. I can only hope that the one dimensional Wilder takes PEDS and catches this lying piece of crap with a lucky Povetkin punch. Better yet when he gets caught Wilder blames the dirty urine on eating wild boar. Now that would be justice

I wouldn't say Fury refuses to fight Whyte, just because we haven't got to that part yet. Yes the soundbite from his camp weren't great about segwaying whyte but they were adamant they wanted to jump from Wilder to Joshua (Which i personally don't believe they would do).

Wilder flat out ducked Whyte, he had money offers turned down on multiple occasions and was seen messaging Whyte about making him wait for TWO years. Moreover Wilder fought others for LESS money when he had offers of more money on the table for a Whyte fight......That WAS a duck.

With Fury it hasn't come to that yet.

Not gonna happen, Fury is by far and away the best fighter in the division and will dominate it for as long as he wants to.

Wilder will never beat Tyson Fury even if he takes all the PEDS in the world, only this time Tyson will probably leave him in a coma.
