  • Comments Thread For: Katie Taylor-Delfine Persoon Rematch - CompuBox Punch Stats

Like their first meeting, Delfine Persoon brought tons of pressure (73.5 punches per two-minute round to Katie Taylor's 30.8) and, like fight one, Persoon landed more total punches than Taylor (116-103 overall in fight one, 107-95 total in fight two) because she landed more jabs (she led 33-10 in fight one and 30-10 in fight two).

Its not always the most total shots that wins, especially so when they slapping arm swipes and messy ineffective grinding, Persoon landed a handful of clean shots the rest were chaotic wasted aggression where you smother yourself, Persoon needs to learn how to sit on her punches effectively, she needs to box she is just a cave women wailing away.

why do people take compubox serously? or i shold ask do they still take it seriously? its complete trash. its not accurate and even if it was which its not it doesnt really tell you the story of the fight or the quality of each punch. like in floyd-pac where floyd lands 11 power punches in round 3...cept he doenst. he lands maybe one and it wasnt even totally clean. so in reality it would be 1 partial land but no it just says 11 cause its for ****** dumb people. its just crap. the only way to do it would be to go back after the fight and rewatch it in detail not to just guess like a clown

Seemed like a draw. No issue with Taylor getting the nod.

Its a click counted estimate, not accurate but way closer than say your opinion, like say the Maidana fight how many misses and sc****s did you count has hits.

Lol...throwing 600+ punches and landing 107...yea, that's the definition of effective aggression

Again, it was a close. Taylor got dragged into a scrap, just like the 1st fight, however it did seem that Taylor was making Persoon miss a LOT.

Could have gone either way for me. Well done to both for a great fight, again.

I wouldn't have said it was ineffective watching the fight though, clearly forced Taylor to be defensive and was wearing her down. 3 minute rounds would have been interesting to see if she tired or could break Taylor.

Win, lose or draw would have been fair for both in this fight.

Agree with this, and May-Pac is the perfect example. I remember the clip of the CompuBox ticker adding scoring punches for Floyd when he isn't even throwing. They use these "stats" to support their narrative, it isn't transparent and never accurate. Scores glancing/blocked shots for the house fighter, misses clean punches for the opponent. Bollocks!
