  • Comments Thread For: Whyte Weighs In A Lot Lighter For Povetkin Fight Than For Win Over Wach

Dillian Whyte was significantly lighter Friday for his fight against Alexander Povetkin than he weighed for his victory over Mariusz Wach.
London's Whyte stepped on the British Boxing Board of Control's scale at 252.6 pounds, a sure sign that he is taking the former WBA heavyweight champion as a serious threat.

Fair play to Whyte, but given what's riding on this fight to come in 270lb+ again would have been abject ******ity.

Both are at there ideal weight I’d say Povetkin more but I think Whyte is going to be to big and have just enough abilities to wear him out late . It will be another Parker type fight just because Povetkin is a better fighter then Parker . It will be Whytes best win .

        No chance.

If Whyte wins, it is the third best win for him. I rate Parker higher and also Rivas, because Rivas was unbeaten contender in his prime.

Parker’s best win is who ? He got gift wins over Takam , Ruiz and Hughie who clearly lost to Povetkin and not remotely a SD like the Parker fight was .

Rivas lost to an over weight Whyte ,who is exactly Rivas best win ?

Povetkin is returning here the same weight he fought AJ in ,clearly he’s done more then Rivas and Parker . His draw should have been a win against Hunter who I think beats Rivas or Parker .

Povetkin is dangerous. Whyte taking on his 4th current top-10 fighter and shaming the rest here.

I have it 60/40 in favor of Whyte. So close. Povetkin is durable and still live. And he is very good at landing his big punches. Whyte is usually slow and easy to hit.

              Should be a good fight.

Agree. For this reason is why I give Povetkin to fourth to take him out.. after that I think Whyte comes into his own and takes him by 9th..

Povetkin is 150 years old and was in his prime 10 years ago.

People on this site are absolutely delusional for thinking this is a competitive fight.

I agree. If Whyte can't beat old man Povetkin, he needs to hang up his gloves and open a fish & chips joint.
