Comments Thread For: Arum: Thurman's People Called About Crawford Fight, But Money Demands Are Crazy

Bob Arum wants Terence Crawford to fight Manny Pacquiao next more than any other welterweight. The high-profile opponent Pacquiao barely beat in his last fight interests Crawford's promoter as well. Arum considers Crawford-Keith Thurman "a terrific fight," but he isn't optimistic it can be made based on his recent conversation with one of Thurman's representatives.

"Arum didn’t divulge the dollar amount Thurman’s representative requested, nor would he identify who contacted him on Thurman’s behalf."

    Why am I not surprised?

Why am I not surprised? We all said this on another thread. These guys are time wasters. They should go ahead and make Bud an offer he cannot refuse. Stop asking other sides to make you an offer.

Then Bob doesn't know how to negotiate.

When someone gives an offer and is a bit high, your supposed to provide a counter offer and whittle it down until you guys meet in the middle or closer to your range.

Instead, Scrooge McBob here turns it down outright.

Crawford is highly sus right now and startin to sound like quack quack quack

Thurman made 1.4 mil against Porter. He got 2 mil against Danny. And 10 mil against Manny. A 3 mil offer against a Crawford is quite generous. Negotiation is a process, not a single event.

Didn't Khan receive $5 million to fight Crawford?

Who wanted it in January? I don't think $3M is that outrageous!
