Comments Thread For: Romero: Lopez Will Knock Out Lomachenko With Same Right Hand Linares Landed

Rolando Romero and Teofimo Lopez are friends. That isn't the only reason, though, that Romero expects Lopez to knock out Vasiliy Lomachenko. Romero has spent plenty of time sparring against Lopez in Las Vegas, where the lightweight prospect developed a healthy respect for Lopez's skills.

Linares 5'8 Lopez is 5'6. Won't be as easy to tag Loma with that right, I think Lopez is even shorter than Loma..

Him and Teo are best friends so of course he’d say that

As for getting dropped by Linares, It was a momentary lapse of focus resulting in a flash kd. Loma stood right there chin up, hands down, in punching range. Linares didn’t even put any real mustard on it, yet he hit Loma with several other harder shots throughout the night and didn’t wobble or drop him with those.

The false hope of “If Linares dropped him with that, imagine what would happen if X-fighter- who-hits-harder lands that same shot“ is gonna be the downfall of future Loma opponents

I have a feeling Lopez will KO MIDGETchenko too. From there, it's on to Tank, Garcia or Haney. Or up to 140.

Loom is a very good fighter. Great footwork, and a great motor. He’s in the beat shape a fighter can be in. But he’s over rated because he’s being called a once in a lifetime fighter or once a decade fighter. He’s simply not that. Floyd Mayweather and Roy Jones Jr are once a decade fighters. Right behind them you have a guys like Pac-Man/Sugar Ray Leonard Then you have fighters like Canelo/GGG/Hopkins/Trinidad/Mosley/De la Hoya/Hearns/JMM. Then You have guys a like Barrera/Morales/Fernando Vargas, and at best this is the level that Lomo is at. Everyone that I’ve named has beaten 3-5 guys that are waaaaaaaaaaay better than Lomo’s toughest competition. Plus I’m 100% sure that everyone I named in there prime beats Lomo if they were ever at his weight class. If Lomo could punch like Trinidad or even De La Hoya, I’d have him up there with Trinidad and De La Hoya, but he’s just an average puncher and there are no all time great average punchers.
