  • Comments Thread For: Katie Taylor: In My Opinion - Amanda Serrano Did Not Want The FIght!

Unified lightweight champion Katie Taylor does not believe Amanda Serrano was serious about their showdown, which fell apart after months of back and forth talks. Taylor and Serrano were scheduled to fight on several dates, and the bout was postponed twice due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Can’t lie, big fan of Serrano but her reason for pulling out is understandable since she would need a KO to win and I was picking her to KO Taylor anyways but her explanation wasn’t strong enough other than she felt she was at a grave disadvantage and the money wasn’t right plus Hearns disrespected her!

Taylor was willing to give up some of her purse to make the fight, Lou could’ve gotten Eddie to apologize and as far as the location disadvantage that’s understandable!

Taylor has always had the cards stacked in her favor(no pun intended) so of course we will never know how great of a fighter she is as well if she’s never been the underdog or in a 50/50 fight till the Persoon rematch!

Agreed with what she said about Serrano not sitting in a division and at least unifying with other champs!

      So let’s call a spade a spade!

I still will stick with my guns that Serrano stops her if they ever fight even if Serrano’s team isn’t as confident in her!

She definitely didn’t want the fight. She was happy back in 2018 when he signed a four fights deal, knowing she only got that deal because she would have to fight Taylor at the end of the 4th fight. She was happy with the money, location etc. As soon as the 3rd fight was out of the way, she then started her crying like a little child. She used everything to try and convince the less knowledgeable boxing fans that Taylor was doing everything to avoid her, thankfully not all of us are that ****** or not all of us didn’t follow her or female boxing.

She went from she is going to do MMA to telemundo. She beetch even when there was covid like Team Taylor created Covid. Even Di Bella had to bite his tongue because some of the things her manager came out with on social media were pure BS. But we got Persoon now, which was a better fight IMHO and should have been the first choice, if Taylor gets past Persoon then we have her against Cecilia B v Jessica winner... Another great fight

I love Amanda to death and believe she would have mopped Taylor fairly easily, but she's horribly managed and promoter. Her manager is her older sister's husband and her promoter is Lou Dibella. Bob Arum runs circles around Lou and Al will no longer do business with him. All of Dibella's fighters are leaving him. Gee, I wonder why. LOL. At the end of the day, Serrano will never make the money she deserves because of how pathetic her team is. I believe her team is taking advantage of her. No way in Hell someone as accomplished as Amanda should not be a bigger star making bigger money. It's pretty sad.

It's not Amanda. She wanted the fight, but she has a crappy promoter (Lou Dibella) and her manager is her older sister's husband. Notice Amanda is almost never allowed to speak. I like her a lot as a fighter, but I sense that she's not developed socially or intellectually and those around her are exploiting that. I also think there is conflict between Dibella and the brother-in-law/manager. Too bad because I think she would have mauled Taylor. Taylor is a bit overrated, as we saw in the first Persoon fight, which she really lost.

I know it’s her manager not her. I mentioned that in my post. Lou doesn’t have the fund as he doesn’t have a network backing. That’s why he doesn’t really have must power with other top promoters. If they fee Taylor is overrated they would have fought her for their highest payday (400k).

Then maybe Lou should stop taking on major fighters and relegate himself to being a regional promoter. If Taylor-Serrano is on the Whyte-Povetkin undercard, where is the money to pay either fighter going to come from unless DAZN is ok with taking a bath on this show. Yes, Taylor is very overrated. She was getting abused late in the Persoon fight.

Yeah, Serrano only wants Boxing matches where she doesn't have to actually ... ya know... Box. She's a Welfare Paige van Zant.
