Comments Thread For: Josh Taylor-Apinun Khongsong Being Lined Up For September in London

Josh Taylor is being lined up to make the delayed defence if his WBA and IBF super-lightweight titles against Apinun Khongsong in September in London. Taylor looks likely to be one of the headliners when BT Sport unveils the second wave of its behind-closed-doors shows, as they seek to bring more high-level stars to the shows.

Reports from Thailand state that Apinun Khongsong is expecting to KO the 'Tart-Tomato' inside three rounds. I dont know about that, Josh has a pretty good chin -- But on second thought, Regis Prograis may have shattered Taylor's chin.

Josh might end up running when he feels Khongsong's power, I wonder what the bookies are offering on the Over & Under. A bet on Khongsong by KO, hedged with the 'OVER' might be the play.

Interesting fight, Taylor is a smart boxer, I think he may take a decision here. Beating Regis was no easy task, very talented kid but Taylor pulled it off. Khongsong has a lot of KOs but hasn't faced any real talent so far.

On paper Taylor should outclass this guy pretty handily.

Get this one out of the way then Taylor v Ramirez for a genuine undisputed champion at 140.

That the fight that everyone wants to see at this weight.

Everyone with two good eyes knows Prograis beat this chump, but the fight was in the UK and you know how that goes. In any event, Ramirez should be able to outwork Taylor for a decision when they fight in December of January. None of the top 140 lbs. guys will do well at welterweight. Why do you think Maurice Hooker is hanging around 144 lbs. and not looking for smoke at 147.

I knew you'd put that KO into a gif. It's the only footage of Khongsong there is. He's got good power but he's too slow and his defensive skills are too basic to keep Josh's tornado fists from smacking into his face. Oh and you'll be backing him so he's definitely getting a can of whoopass opened on him.
