Comments Thread For: Porter: If Spence Isn't The Same As When We Fought, Garcia Very Well Could Win

Shawn Porter isn't convinced Errol Spence Jr. will defeat Danny Garcia. The former IBF/WBC welterweight champion can't commit to picking a winner in that welterweight title fight until he watches Spence in the first few rounds against Garcia on November 21. Like virtually every other boxing observer, Porter simply doesn't know if Spence will be the same ferocious fighter following his horrific car accident last October 10 in Dallas.

I think Danny has a real chance at beating Spence even before the wreck. Danny's biggest downfall is he dont let his hands go but Spence's body attack could change that too. Good fight on paper.

Same thoughts. This was always a highly competitive matchup, but I don't think Spence is the same as before. Errol reportedly puts on 40-50lbs between fights, so that's another thing that's going to catch up to him sooner or later. I'm picking DSG by decision, but I think he repeatedly rocks Errol along the way.

I think Spence would have handled Garcia without any real issue before the car crash but with the crash plus a year in rona purgatory, who knows? It'll be interesting to see, anyway.

Spence reminds me of an undisciplined weight drained Danny Jacobs. He could very well move up to super middle before his career is over taking a few bad losses along the way. By bad losses I mean beat senseless and losing on points or getting stopped. He has the goods but lacks the discipline it takes to be elite

Spence needs to stop drinking. Does he have dentures? Danny's two defeats were very close fights.

It was a miracle that he survived that car crash.

All yawl hating on Spence, including Porter, are gonna disappear like it's a magic trick or something after Garcia gets beaten senseless and stopped.
