Teofimo Lopez Sr. On the Negotiations: Lomachenko Must Give Us More Money!

Yeah. Maybe he just wants his son to be payed more than what he is getting payed. But they always start talking about what Lomachenko is getting payed. Lomachenko's purse amount is always dragged into the conversation. Maybe three million dollars had been discussed previously. But as far as I know there was never a formal offer. But I'm not privy to these negotiations.

According to Lopez Sr., they're getting an offer that is 1.8 million dollars less than previously. But even then they were bit¢hing about that amount. So when the hell are these two going to be happy? They're never happy with anything. It's ALWAYS a problem.

If it's a matter of principle, then fine, give the kid 1.5 or 1.8 million. But really, not too many people are sympathetic. And if we go off of what Lopez Sr. and Jr. were complaining about previously, that Loma is getting 8 million for the fight, then that guy is taking a 57 percent cut. If we're being fair and taking into account what we hear out of the Lopez camp.

I mean you can look at this a lot of ways, but even if his son were offered that amount, it doesn't change the fact that he's getting paid more than twice as much as he was in the past and that Lomachenko is making less than he was in his last fight and the same for a title defense with Crolla.

I'm sick of these two. Seriously.

I guess a lot of people are saying it's ok to be an ass if it gets you a few extra dollars. Me, I'm more of a "how did you get there" kind of guy than a "what did you accomplish?" ..... a 'journey is more important than the destination' type.

If I was Teofimo and I was confident in beating Loma, I would take the money and the glory and then I would make as much money as I wanted.

Wow! I had previously skimmed that article, just looking to see if I could find Arum saying the deal is done or that Lopez has conceded his position. I usually do when I see Chris Williams as the author. But that's crazy if it's true. Thanks for posting the link!

Man, if that's true and Lopez still declines the fight, I just don't even know what to say. I mean, I just don't.

And I wonder why Lopez deleted his last tweet. Was it the "negotiating" part of the "dumb asses" part? You know what I mean?
