He said they ain’t cool with Lopez making 2 mil less for an undisputed fight. Makes sense, it’s more than a 55% cut for the biggest fight in boxing.

He mentions Campbell made more as a mandatory and while you can argue it’s greed from the Lopez camp, the real greed is coming from Top Rank with the lowball.
He said Loma is making too much money, that he has never made more than 2 million dollars.

What he's saying is that his son should be making about 3.2 million dollars, which is what Loma is making.

So if we take into account what the manager is saying, then I suppose a "haircut less" would be about $3 million or a high $2 million. That would make Lomachenko's payday, what, like $1.7 million?

Yeah. He's saying that because of Eddie Hearn. He wouldn't be saying that if not for Hearn saying that the other day. But that was at a sold out O2 arena with PPV. And we still don't even know what Luke took in. Now we are in a Pandemic, with unemployment and no live gate. So this guy is living in a fantasy land.

The thing is that he's not looking at it as what his son should make but what Loma is making compared to his son. Loma has a contractual agreement with ESPN for that money, so the fact that he even mentions that Loma should be paid less is crazy. His son is getting paid more than twice what he was previously paid and Loma is not getting paid twice what he was previously paid, based on what Lopez senior said. That's the money they have to work with. And judging by Top Rank and ESPN not contacting their manager all week speaks volumes, IMO.

Yo hablo espańol, you don’t need to tell me what he said I heard it. Not to be smart or disrespectful just saying.

He’s not talking compared to Loma he made it simple. They was offered 3 mill before. Now only 1.2, more than 50% cut.

        Don’t seem fair To
Him or his son and I can respect that stance.

The father also Said that the fight will get made, so
        It’s just negotiations.

One thing though is the father did insinuate delaying the fight as a result of negotiations and pushing Back 2 weeks.

Unfortunately it’s looking more and more Like The fight won’t get made but be on point when translating the message.

I understand calling Lopez greedy, naive and spoiled, but also deal with facts not opinion based on statements you inaccurately translate.

Me disculpo. No quise dar a entender que no entiendes espanol.

Fair enough. Personally, I understood it that he was comparing this cut to Lomachenko's cut, when Lomachenko has a specific contract with ESPN to get paid a certain amount.

Also, I'm not sure what the offer to the son had been because I remember back before the pandemic, he and his son were complaining about the amount even THEN. Lopez was saying that Lomachenko is asking for 7 million or 8 million. I don't even know if that's true, and Arum had to come out and say, and I quote: "I like Lopez Jr. He's a good kid. But he talks without knowing the facts. He needs to stop worrying about what Lomachenko is making and just worry about himself."

So to me, this is all a bunch of *****ing and moaning to try to stall the fight.

We'll see. Like you said, Lopez Sr. did say the fight is still on, that it won't go out to next year, and that his son will knock out Loma by the fifth round.

          Well, see ...

Right on. I agree with those that say these young fighters are acting like Divas.

But after hearing pops bring clarity, I can see how you’d get mad at less than 50% of what was originally offered.

If you are offered 3 mil and then only 1, I could see a legit beef.

But I do agree, it’s definitely what I despise of this younger generation and that sense of entitlement.

You know it's a clown act or a farce when they start saying the purses should be reversed. You can't even take them seriously.
Ask for a 60/40 or something. Making totally outrageous demands really makes it look like you are running scared or something. IDK maybe it's just to hype up the fight..make ppl talk ? .... We'll see.

Yeah. Maybe he just wants his son to be payed more than what he is getting payed. But they always start talking about what Lomachenko is getting payed. Lomachenko's purse amount is always dragged into the conversation. Maybe three million dollars had been discussed previously. But as far as I know there was never a formal offer. But I'm not privy to these negotiations.

According to Lopez Sr., they're getting an offer that is 1.8 million dollars less than previously. But even then they were bit˘hing about that amount. So when the hell are these two going to be happy? They're never happy with anything. It's ALWAYS a problem.

If it's a matter of principle, then fine, give the kid 1.5 or 1.8 million. But really, not too many people are sympathetic. And if we go off of what Lopez Sr. and Jr. were complaining about previously, that Loma is getting 8 million for the fight, then that guy is taking a 57 percent cut. If we're being fair and taking into account what we hear out of the Lopez camp.

I mean you can look at this a lot of ways, but even if his son were offered that amount, it doesn't change the fact that he's getting paid more than twice as much as he was in the past and that Lomachenko is making less than he was in his last fight and the same for a title defense with Crolla.

I'm sick of these two. Seriously.

What tends to happen in negotiations. Teofimo Lopez and Co. make these kind of claims, Team Lomachenko laugh them off, but come back with a lesser concession. That is how it works, folks. They know a $2m swing is ridiculous, but if Loma really wants the fight he may come back with a much fatter purse offer for Teofimo. Can't be mad at the kid.

Do what Floyd did, no purse but a % of revenue, this way if people pay to see it or buy memorabilia you get your percentage and it could be higher than what they want now, if the fight tanks you all get less, but nobody takes the loss more than others.

Promoters dont like this because it shows up there percentage compared to the guy fighting.
