Comments Thread For: Ryan Garcia-Luke Campbell - WBC Orders Fight To Purse Bid

The fate of Ryan Garcia and Luke Campbell will be determined by whomever is willing to spend the most for their services. An ordered fight between the pair of lightweights is now heading to a purse bid hearing, BoxingScene.com has learned. The two have been in talks for more than a month to challenge for the World Boxing Council (WBC) interim lightweight title, but have been unable to reach a deal by the prescribed deadline.

Sounds like a fight over which promotions gets to promote the fight!

Hearns about to open up the war chest again!

        Who got that long money.
It's gonna be on DAZN anyway ...
Unless some funny business behind the scenes happens and there is another player in town.

I like Ryan but he might walk away IF the Bid doesn't go that high and I honestly don't think it will which will result into him not getting the big money he think he should get. It will take a 3rd Party jumping in and driving up the price forcing GBP or Matchroom to overpay for this one. Right now with the Pandemic, nobody can afford to be overpaying for fights at the moment clearly!

I wonder why they weren't able to come to a deal.

Are you new to the sport? Lots of fights go to purse bid.

Please educate me on this. I DKSA belts. Purse bid happens when fighters can't agree on the splits, right? If so, how much is on the table, and what %? Thanks.
