Comments Thread For: Arum Making At Least 7-Fight Cards When Boxing Returns To ESPN, ESPN+ 8/22

Losing so many fights to COVID-19 in June and July has prompted Bob Arum and his matchmakers to alter their approach when his promotional company brings boxing back to ESPN later this month. Arum plans to construct seven-fight cards for six straight Saturday nights, starting August 22 and ending September 26. Having that many fights on Top Rank's cards will afford the company more flexibility if fighters test positive for COVID-19.

Four fight broadcasts are just too much. The card ends up dragging, especially when all fights go the distance. I like three fight telecasts the best and put the rest on ESPN+ before the main card or something. Looking forward to the TR series returning though. Some really good cards lined up.

My problem with his cards lately is too many feather fisted fighters.....his cards need more ****ers and fighters not afraid to mix it up. It’s like watching female fighters

I hope the show doesn't start late like at 9pm....Regardless, it's good to have fights on regular ESPN.

Arum is sort of doing what PBC is doing for their upcoming schedule, only difference is that PBC is televising all of their fights on both FOX networks

Please, no more of these terrible Top Rank/ESPN cards ! 4 of them??! Ugh. The only intriguing fight out of 4 nationally televised, long cards, is Smith-Alvarez. Old Bob Arum will never quit living every minute of his life trying to squeeze every cent he can out of corporate suckers and an ignorant public.

              Ramirez vs Postol
              Lomachenko vs Lopez
              Berchelt vs Valdez
              Franco vs Maloney II

All potential fights on ESPN or ESPN+ to close the year. TR is going to be putting on some pretty damn good shows if you ask me.

You just had to be the one to complain, huh? We could be getting nothing at all, but here we are. It's "fans" like you that ruin it for the sport. Go watch MMA.
