Comments Thread For: Berlanga Has Big Goals of Becoming Champ, Facing Canelo

Unbeaten super middleweight puncher Edgar Berlanga has very big goals in his career. At the moment he's riding fierce streak, with all 14 of his wins coming inside the first round by knockout. He grew up watching Puerto Rican boxers on television and remembers when he was a young kid, going to Madison Square Garden in New York City to watch Miguel Cotto retain his title with a stoppage of Zab Judah.

"I would love to have such a challenge in the future,"*Berlanga said." So now we have issues with young fighters having goals for the future? Wasn't Canelo saying the same thing about Mayweather years before ever fighting him? You should also stop judging how other guys look. That's kinda weird.

Pure lies because if that were true, Clenelo would have faced Andrade by now or would have stayed at light heavy to unify with Bivol or Beterbiev.

            The writer blames Berlanga

I don't see anywhere coming from Berlanga to hat he is going to take down Canelo. That is only coming from the writer. Instead Berlanga says he hopes to in 18 months to challenge Canelo for the Championship. That sounds pretty wise for a young , talented but inexperienced fighter beyond his years and a good indicator of mature thinking. Berlanga has a high upside but has a lot of growing to do and all of those early knockouts are not allowing that to happen. He needs to be developing his boxing skills and only with more fights , better opponents , more challenges will that happen. He definitely has Championship potentials but they have a ways to be realized and his tremendous power gives him a leg up on the opposition.
