You hit the nail on the head. There's more depth of quality in WMMA because there are more women training in it. Also boxing is much more narrow in its scope as a combat sport. MMA pulls from alot of disciplines (grappling sports, striking sports, etc).

When you have more quality, you have higher quality fights and fewer mismatches which generates more interest.

Claressa should go to UFC. Don't make the mistake Amanda Serrano did sticking with boxing. Coronavirus is showing that UFC has totally taken over. Even undercard UFC fighters have 100k followers.

Poor article all the way through

So come over to MMA and get it beat for less money then! Also she isn’t a Detroit native. Flint isn’t Detroit and Detroit isn’t Flint; let’s just get that straight

Shields just isn’t good enough for me to pay to watch her on PPV. That hasn’t nothing to do with her being a man or woman. She just doesn’t have that MUST SEE appeal for me. She is a good, maybe if she had more knockouts. Now I would watch her on an undercard like she mentioned with other champions I would pay to watch as a “collective,” card. Part of being a PPV Star is boxing ability but also the persona and overall appeal, good or bad. Their has to be an some element of excitement.

Here is the other thing, I’m not ready to pay to watch the Charlo twins either on PPV. They aren’t must see, appealing enough for me yet. I much rather pay for Tyson vs Roy.

Fighters today, I would pay to watch PPV in every division. There aren’t many “must see” superstars like in the days of Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Chavez Sr, Roy Jones, Tyson, Holyfield, Oscar, Manny, Mayweather, Fighters you would pay to watch win or lose.

HW: Fury, Joshua, & Wilder. I say Wilder and Joshua because both were stopped and both have power, which adds to their overall appeal. I would pay to see them knock someone out or get knocked out.

    CW: None

    LHW: Canelo

    SMW:None

    MW: Canelo

    JMW: None

    WW: Manny, Bud, Spence

    JWW: None

LW: Lomo, Davis, & Lopez. The latter two have an element of excitement and unpredictability.

    JLW & below: None

Not yet for Garcia & Stevenson but they will be PPV superstars if they keep winning.

The talent pool in womens boxing isn't deep enough to accomplish anything. There are probably 20 times more women in MMA due to being able to use more than just your hands offensively. If more women boxer werecapable of inflicting damage it might be different.

Women MMA is way more entertaining Sorry!

Rose Namajunas vs Jessica Andrade Rematch was one of the best fights I've seen in 2020 Period regardless of Gender so yeah Props to the UFC they do a great job promoting their female fighters for sure

Shields probably would be better off going over and fighting Amanda Nunes, she would get appreciated and respected more compared to the Sh^t Fickle Boxing Fans who hate her

It doesn’t sell, same as women’s football. Giving exposure to a product that doesn’t sell isn’t smart. It’s not difficult to work out.
