The hope was to have already challenged for a junior lightweight title by this point, or so Oscar Valdez thought his year would play out back in January. Obviously, everyone has been forced to make due with the mess that 2020 has offered the world. Rather than heading to a straight-away shot at reigning 130-pound titlist Miguel Berchelt instead has come separate ESPN headliners for both after having to wait for the sport to resume amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

I wouldn't be surprised if he loses to Velez . He should win but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't. He has zero chance against Berchelt guy is a monster at 130 so underrated

Not such an easy fight Tuesday. If Valdez is not ready it could take alot out of him. I still belive in Valdez. He should earn his win against Valez and somehow like he always does persevere against Berchelt. Reynose might hinder his ability and mess with his style but nobody can take anything from his heart! Not even the Reynose camp. Or Berchelt..

Even if Valdez is winning, he hasn't looked good, and even if Velez is losing, he hasn't looked bad. Chasing Ryan Garcia all night looks much better than getting knocked down and going to war with Adam Lopez.
