At a time when the 2020 Tokyo Olympics were set to begin, instead comes the reminder of the year-long delay the Summer Games are forced to endure. Participants have been given a full year's notice as to when and where they will compete in Tokyo 2020, which will now begin July 21, 2021. The schedules for all 47 sanctioned sports along with the Opening and Closing Ceremonies were announced, with boxing events taking place in 15 of the 18 days of competition and with all bouts being staged at Kokugikan Arena, an 11,000+ seat venue in the Sumida section of Tokyo, Japan.
