Comments Thread For: Stevenson Officially Vacates WBO 126 Title, Installed As Number One Contender At 130

The next goal for Shakur Stevenson is to become a two-division titlist. Of course make him number 1 against the weakest champ why not fight JOJO Diaz or Belchert

Stevenson never really "won" a title at 126 by challenging q champion, did he? Was his fight with Gonzalez even declared as being an "interim" championship match, or as being for a vacant title, at the time the fight was made?

Another guy who will win multiple titles with most of them being meaningless.

Stevenson definitely has some boxing talent, he lacks power though. Even though he picked up the WBO belt at 126, he had it pretty easy in doing that and didn't really accomplish much at that weight. He will soon find out that at 130 he's going to have to step it up if he wants to compete, Guys like Berchelt, Diaz, Herring, are going to be tuff. People will say that Herring is his best shot, but I believe Santa Cruz with his lack of power is probably the weakest guy at 130 but would still be a good challenge for Stevenson.

Bob Arum orchestrates which of his guys vacate titles and when, so that his other guys can move up and fight for them.

The WBO is a revolving door of Top Rank boxers. Pretty obvious and blatant to see.
