Comments Thread For: Katie Taylor: I'll Leave No Doubts In Rematch With Delfine Persoon

Katie Taylor considers her rematch with Delfine Persoon the best alternative to testing herself against Amanda Serrano on August 22. The Taylor-Persoon rematch, which was officially announced by Matchroom Boxing on Thursday, was put together relatively quickly once it became clear that Serrano would not agree to fight Taylor next month in England. Taylor's unconvincing victory over Persoon in their first fight 13 months ago gives her plenty of motivation now that the Serrano showdown has fallen apart.

First fight was an amazing fight, hope this one turn into another one. Finally women boxing is getting the reaction that it should be getting.

this is a much harder fight than serrano i would say but less money, i can see why they were so desperate to get serrano in the ring by giving her full pay and taylor taking the cut, didnt even work

I agree to an extent , the best fighting the best and both fighters deserve decent money here , trouble is female boxing on the whole is really a very poor standard wth really only 2 or 3 in each division who can fight or box well , to use the lightweights as an example with the exception of these 2 you have Chantelle Cameron ( massive threat to both ) Estelle Moseley ( Olympic chdmpion , good boxer, no pop ) rosa volante ( tough and game ) 3 or 4 competent gatekeepers from Argentina and the US , same for 2 swedes who lack decent promoters and a progressive profile but fit the competent bracket and 2 or 3 Germans that have padded out records , are way to old and as poor as the rest of the division if they dared step up , so that I feel is part of the problem with female boxing and each division is the same . Quite honestly it's a very hard sell overall and until the depth improves with competent amateurs coming through you will be left with the 2 or 3 in each division but taylor v persoon is a credit to not only womens boxing but boxing in general , I'm certainly looking forward to it , should THIS fight be 3 minute rds ? If there is a female fight that should be I'd say yes to this one and pay them accordingly , trouble is you set a precedent and open a can of worms with safety issues for the less competent ones .super feather division looking much better now so that's a good sign .

Taylor will avoid Serrano, they said. Taylor will never give Persoon a rematch, they said. Funny

It’s also funny how they (mostly Americans) cry about the first one being such an egregious robbery...that happened in their country with American judges

Taylor gets the win fair and square this time. Easy UD by a wide margin.

She’ll never give Persoon a rematch, they said

It’s a lose-lose situation for Mr. 1MinuteCum. Whoever wins, the only two undisputed female champions will still be European this dribbling cretin can’t stand this European takeover.
