Comments Thread For: Will 'Fight Camp' Put Boxing Center Stage Again or Is It Hearn's Big Vanity Project

By Ron Lewis - On a clear day you can see London from the back garden of Maskells, the Matchroom headquarters in Brentwood, Essex, which was once the Hearn family home. The grounds sweep down a hill towards the M25 motorway, the sound of which is just about audible in the distance. It is usually a spot of calm, but one thing is for certain, there will be...

I don’t care if it’s a vanity project or not so long as we get good fights out of it

Both to be honest, look at him he loves the role he's playing right now. But fair play to him, he's putting the money up and making fights happen.

Looking forward to Whyte vs Povetkin and loathe him or hate him Hearn's doing the sport a service here and if he wants to play centre stage in his back yard then so be it, let him have his moment. It only offends people who hate the guy, personally I'm much more bothered about the boxing.

This guy has a bucketfull of imagination - he worked with the Saudis in a newly constructed arena. I hope this is a huge success and we see a schedule for September as well.

Who cares as long as there’s good fights?

Whyte v Povetkin is far far better than anything else we’re getting in this period.

Also, like Hearn or not, he doesn’t do things half arsed, I’m sure all the content leading up to the fights will be of top quality, as will the setting for the fights when it’s done. He’s also putting on competitive fights for it.

His work never looks low budget.

Water off a ducks back is Eddie with his critics..

He's doing something and putting his money where his mouth is. He could quite easily have took on a bingo hall for the month and got the same fights but what's the fun in that for him? His ego will be bursting during that month or so and thereafter if they live up to the bill.. he won't be bothered one bit what others think so longs the people around him and ones he wants to Impress are sweet...

He's Marmite, and I'm sure that's just the way he likes it....

              Finally Eddie Hearn move

I see a success in these series. Eddie Hearn is creative and unique with this mansion with good atmosphere.

                Vanity project?

Its boxing. A couple decent fights and then whyte v povetkin which is a real danger. Looking forward to it.

Matchroom fanboys: Wilder v Fury II lost money. (Although you don’t know if that’s true unless you work for PBC/Top Rank in a capacity to be privy to that information.)

Eddie Hearn: I’ll be losing money on my vanity project.

Matchroom fanboys: I don’t care I just want to see fights.

Which one is it Matchroom fanboys? Do you care or don’t care when an event loses money... fûcking hypocrites!!!

I'm no slave trader junior fan.
Slags off the ufc then copies his new best m8 Dana relentlessly.
But weddun to the geeza for giving it a go.
I'm not that impressed with the card's but with no travel his hands are tied. At least on paper they look good matchups.
