Comments Thread For: Vegas Bettor Wins $7,500 From $150K Wager Placed on Albert Bell

Albert Bell was reduced to a one-handed boxer by the end of the night, but was enough to preserve his unblemished record along with a massive bet placed on the Toledo native. The unbeaten junior lightweight came up aces in Thursday's ESPN-televised chief support, claiming a 10-round shutout win over Philippines' Mark Bernaldez (20-4, 14KOs) at MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas. The bout sparked the interest of at least one enthusiastic better, who placed a $150,000 bet at BetMGM Luxor on Bell, who was a 20-1 favorite at the time.

Why does everyone now post about these crazy bets with UFC and Boxing recently? It must be a slow news period. I don't think anyone really cares how much people bet on fighters.

      These Bettors are on fire.

Normally, I don't have the balls to bet money, but in the times of Floyd Mayweather Jr. I bet money in all his career, beginning when Floyd have only 10 fights at that time. Thank to him, this money had help me pay the bills rent, when those times I don't have a own property. After Saul Canelo Alvarez win against Miguel Cotto, I bet in him from this point forward, but never bet money in his fights vs Gennady Golovkin.

This is newsworthy why? I thought they were saying dude won a 20:1 bet at first but it's actually just a -2000 / 1/20 win. I mean, yeah, nice n all if you got $150k to throw around but it ain't exactly a longshot now is it?

Scared money don't make money as they say, lol.

I've paid my rent and bought a whip with the game pit known as 2 fast Fury at the bookies. Floyd covered my beer money many a time as well. Love sports betting personally. Provides a rush only rivaled by ******s, and bodying Pac stains on NSB.

Watching Bell fight was like watching paint dry. Definitely has patience and poise but it's a bit to much, needs to step up if he really wants to compete against the big dogs.

Spending that much money for a 5% yield is kind of insane especially when you’re taxed 24% on the winnings. Why not drop it into a mutual fund or etf which is much less risky with on average a higher return. In boxing anything can happen.

Guy must be loaded to not care about losing 6 figures

One of these days a giant bet is going to backfire and I’m not sure how I’m going to feel about it.

For the life of me I don't get these 6 digit bets to win 4 digits. It's a quick lil ROI most of the time obviously, but when it goes south once it usually puts you into a negative ROI lifetime on those types of wagers. Not worth the risk to me.

Randomly some mfer won 6 digits on a $250 10 team parlay the other day on Japanese & Korean baseball. Turns out doe that these US sports books got no clue when these games are happening sometimes & the guy made the bet while games were started. Supposedly when that sorta thing goes down they give you the option to take the money & get banned from the casino or cancel the bet & be not be banned. With a 6 digit score I think this mofo will be like f########cccckkkkkk Aria or MGM or whoever it was.

Who cares there must be lots of wealthy people betting like this. If you have this kind of cash lying around thats fine I guess.
It's not really news that people care about though is it ?
