  • Comments Thread For: Whyte-Povetkin Was Moved To Avoid Champions League Clash

Eddie Hearn said the decision to switch the Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin fight back to August 22 was to avoid a clash with Champions League football. Hearn's Matchroom team was set to announce the fight for a week earlier, only for Uefa, the European football governing body, to announce a shortened conclusion to the Champions League, which would have seen the pay-per-view event clash with the competition's quarter-finals.

I hope they can get something back but to announce boxing is back with this shyte and Whyte fighting a forty year old on a PPv doesn't hit the spot at all. Also Hearn should read the news .He says the longer (in weeks) the time slot is the easier the lock down rules ....

This is what going to happen Povetkin fails either a drugs test or got Covid 19 and Dillan fight Martin Bakoile instead.

I used to love Football AKA Soccer in the 70's when they were actually allowed to tackle, but to me it's become a right Nancy boy's game!

Idk why some fans are complaining about Whyte fighting povetkin. Whyte is keeping himself busy goin through the contender ladder literally 1 by 1 hopefully he gets a shot a title by next yr finally. I have a feeling povetkin is gonna beat Whyte by decision if an when this finally goes down

Eddy has the back yard blues. As soon as people heard the fights were going to be in Eddys back yard, they ran for the hills. Eddy didn't care about the conflict, until fighters started dropping out, he needs time to fill the vacancies.

Not sure why he's worried about clashing with the champions league , not gonna make much difference to the PPV figures with the **** undercard and very average main event ...
