Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: I'd Back Tyson Fury To Beat Lennox Lewis

Frank Warren, co-promoter of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, believes his boxer is the best of his generation. If Warren had to place a wager, he would back Fury to defeat another British heavyweight great, former unified champion and Hall of Famer Lennox Lewis.

Lennox’s legacy will look better and better as time goes on, but we always knew that would be the case. He is capable of beating anyone who ever lived. He makes adjustments, and lots of tools. A great uppercut, jab, right hand, and a decent hook. He also smells blood and can pour it on when needed. Not everyone enjoys him as a personality, but he never embarrassed boxing and knows his stuff. I think a lot of people who would bet against him vs Fury would wish they could change their bet when a focused 245lb in shape Lennox walked to the ring. No ****** outfit, no side show, all business.

I'm willing to entertain the idea of Fury possibly beating Lennox because of his length and ability to switch, but I'm 60/40 for Lennox. I don't think Fury beats Vitali Klitschko though. I would need to see how he does in Wilder 3 and Joshua 1. The spectre of Cunningham outboxing him before the foul makes me think that Evander would also beat Fury. I rate Fury highly, but those guys in the era just before his were something else. All of them were better boxers than Tyson.

At 6'9 270 pounds with great skills, Fury is tough to beat for anyone within any era.

Cheap shot to mention wlad, first of all he were getting old and secondly badly missed manny in his corner , we all knew fury had no intention of going into the second fight where wlad would have certainly made adjustments and the outcome could well have been different .

There's nobody great in this generation to even put a yardstick on Fury. Being the best (as claimed) of a bad bunch isn't something to write home about..

Lennox would be too smart to let Tyson constantly put his weight on him to drain him for the latter rounds..
