Comments Thread For: Arum: Navarrete Will Stay At Featherweight; Could Fight Magdaleno For WBO Title

Bob Arum expects Emanuel Navarrete to remain at featherweight after Saturday night. Mexico's Navarrete has not given up his WBO junior featherweight title, but his promoter anticipates him vacating that championship because it has become increasingly difficult for Navarrete to make the 122-pound limit. The 25-year-old Navarrete (31-1, 27 KOs) is heavily favored to beat Mexican journeymen Uriel Lopez (13-13-1, 6 KOs) in the main event of a five-fight show ESPN will televise live from Mexico City on Saturday night.

He better thank Stevenson for the opportunity to get that vacant belt.

Bob Arum knows that Michael Conlan would get his ass destroyed by Navarette. Even though Conlan is Ranked #1 & Magdaleno is Ranked #4, Arum will still make sure Magdaleno gets the title shot.

No big names have crossed his lips. He's been on a c class run since he won the title and one of them gave him a hard time. Mags better be on free tv or lumped in with a better show. A real disappointment, looking for a vacant title.

I don’t see anyone beating him any time soon.

Anyone watching UFC tonight? Thinking about skipping boxing unless someone can point out something I might be missing.
