Comments Thread For: Plant: I'm In Conversation For Canelo Fight, They Have To Come Correct

In February, Caleb Plant initially balked at the thought of fighting Canelo Alvarez in a quick turnaround fight in May because he felt that back-to-back camps would be physically taxing on his body.

Plant could be a dangerous fight for Nelo but I think he will price himself out like many others have.

I understand why Plant wouldn't want a quick turnaround for Canelo, but sometimes the reward is worth the risk! He blew it! Benavidez still has to fight Yildrim, so I think Plant should look elsewhere! Speaking of taking risks, Jermall Charlo should call out Caleb Plant! Probably the best fight he could get right now!

So Plant wants/wanted the fight when the feelers were sent out to him from camp canelo but wanted adequate time to prepare for it? Sounds like a reasonable request to me..

Oscar/camp Canelo wanted him pretty much straight away knowing what toll a training camp added by fight night takes out on you, along with the arrogance of "you don't get second chances".. sounds about right..

I think it Could have been an half decent bout. Let's see who either fighter end up with..

Plant likes to talk out of his a**, solified champion? Give me a break. Plant in February had 10 weeks till Cinco de Mayo, I think it's safe to say that if your 26, only fought twice in 20 months, and coming off a glorified sparing session, which his last fight was, 10 weeks is plenty of time. 2 weeks off and back to the gym after that, 8 weeks is the standard for preparation for a fight. As far as a " real offer" being sent, he has no business asking for a ton of money. Also, he mentions about how, established champions nedding so much time to get ready, off the top of my head I could think of Navarrette who fought 5 times last year, also Inoue fought 4 times. Plant fought twice in 2 years! Enough already.

Nothing at all wrong with this one, but I'm still kinda curious about what happened with the Jermall situation and whether was Al or 'Mall that didn't want it. If it was Al I gotta be wondering if he won't do the same here.

Good move by the deadzone. Finally a live opponent for Canelo. Plant is bigger, faster, more cagey and slick, and appears the type who will go through the fire to win.
Deadzone needs some life, and oddly enough this no doubt will be the biggest fight on their app yet and it will be provided by Golden Boy and Al Haymon.....not Eddie Hearn. So much for that “American takeover” his racist fans were talking about
