  • Comments Thread For: Warren: I Would Have Liked Dubois To Fight For World Title in Early 2021

Daniel Dubois, 22-years-old, is viewed by many as a rising force in the heavyweight division. Back in April, he was scheduled to take part in a career-defining fight against Olympic silver medal winner Joe Joyce. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, that fight was pushed back to July. The fight is likely to get pushed back for a second time.

Except he gets a vacant belt,he will get knocked out against any of the current world champions,he needs 2+ years to improve defensively and generally before he has a considerable chance to beat AJ,fury,wilder...plus joyce is a live dog so never count ur chickens before they hatch, frank

        I'm sure you would Frank.

The lads not ready yet, let's see how he goes against Joyce and see where he goes from that.

DD is one I'm waiting for to burst onto the scene but I don't want him to be thrown Into a den where he isn't equipped enough to cope. Let him develop and possibly see where he's at over the next 2 years.

Warren knows the HW scene better than most. In what possible scenario would Dubois have got a shot early 2021?

Early 2022 is ambitious given rematch clauses for the undisputed, Dillian Whyte, Usyk etc.

Which isn't a bad for Dubois as he's developing all the time. If he gets past Joyce (no given) I'd like to see him against Parker, seen as though he's going the WBO route. Maybe that could be a final eliminator?

It might be wise for him to grab a few fights abroad as well.

Agree, more experience under his belt the better.
