Comments Thread For: Julio Cesar Martinez Hoping To Fight in July and September

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, WBC flyweight world champion Julio Csar 'Rey' Martnez is working very hard. In fact, his team is hoping to have at least two or three more fights this year, as they aim to secure a unification fight in the flyweight division by September.

A flyweight unification as chief-support for Canelo's next event, vs. Moruti Mthalane or Artem Dalakian is very appealing. I prefer Moruti Mthalane : since Kosei Tanaka vacated the WBO 112 title and moved up to 115, I think the Ring and TBRB should bump Moruti Mthalane and Julio Cesar Martinez to the #1. and #2. in the 112 pound division.

The IBF-WBC unification between said fighters would fill the flyweight lineage that Roman Gonzalez left vacant, when Choco moved up to Superfly.

Martinez is a serious talent! You hit him once, he will hit you twice back. Full arsenal in his toolbox. Solid boxer with subtle skills, yet exciting at the same time.

This guy is the most fun to watch out of pretty much anyone. Can't wait for his upcoming fights.

Mthalane is the better style matchup too, that would be a good action fight.

Dalakian has a style that could give Martinez some trouble IMO.

Can't see this happening considering Hearn is just postponing and postponing. Maybe he should finally start listening to Dana, not just licking his arse.
