I would imagine that's the case, but at least Dicaire is a legitimate top JMW (albeit a slightly small one) so Shields does deserve genuine credit if she wins this one, unlike the Habazin fight where Ivana literally wasn't even a top 10 in any division, and certainly had no business contesting to be a unified titlist.

Habazin had been the IBO champion at middleweight.

Indeed. Do you want to see the illustrious history of that belt?

          https://boxrec.com/en/title/190/Middleweight

They literally just minted it and Ivana fought an equally unranked nobody for it. She weighed at 155 and something.

Ivana's biggest claim to fame is actually winning the vacant (and ever so slightly more storied) IBF Welter title back in 2013 weighing just 144 and then promptly losing it in her first defense.

This isn't a criticism of Shields FWIW, but of the sanctioning orgs who allowed this through a series of convoluted maneuverings and the thinness of the female divisions especially when spread amongst several different orgs.

Whatever though, for me beating Decaire will legitimise Claressa's JMW titles is all I'm saying.

I was just responding to you saying that she wasn't top 10 in any division. Obviously if she held a belt then that isn't the case. (Even if the belt was handed to her.)

Not that I'm a fan of the IBO. But this is women's boxing, they don't have a deep talent pool. Cecilia Braekhus has fought Havazin too.

Ah I see. Yeah, that's fair. I tend to go off the Boxrec rankings for the female fighters because there's no organised rankings like the Ring or TBRB that grade the women outside of the Sanctioning orgs divisional rankings. So more correctly I should have said that per Boxrec she was never a top 10 fighter in any of the divisions she fought in unless possibly just cracking in at #9 or #10 WW back in 2013 or so.

Should have clarified that, my bad... and of course it's entirely legitimate the challenge Boxrec as an authorititive ranking system, it's just the best we got I think.

And yeah, it was Braekhus who beat Ivana for the IBF in her her first defense of that title, and I wouldn't have considered it a strong title then either although Braekhus went on to legitimise it by defending aginst the likes of Matthis, Farias and Lauren, much as - in my eyes at least - Claressa will legitimise her JMW titles by beating Dicaire.

Nothing wrong with not having any power. Shields can straight up fight, and rules the women’s end of the sport. No shame in winning every fight.

Yeah, but you are still a man. You are like that track runner from south africa. You have testicles that are stuck in your abdomen. They just didn't drop to a ball sack.

I bet he/she is completely bald in five years.

What a joke hood rat you are.
