That said, there's no point in a rematch with Linares and I don't see it happening.

I honestly think he kinda quit in the fight. He had his chance.

He did quit, then when the count was over and the ref stopped it, he got up pretended he wanted to continue.

I watched it, and while I agree the punch landed clean and flush you cannot discount the fact that Loma was moving forward and his right lead foot landed on Linares' lead left foot. This caused Loma to twist his ankle slightly (not injuring it) and he had no way to absorb the punch or jump back to deflect it. He had no choice but to take it and move on. Have you ever hopped on one foot and have someone push you? There is no way you can keep your balance.

Isn’t all of that irrelevant though? A KD isn’t nullified just because a fighter gets hit while off balance. That was a perfectly clean, perfectly legitimate KD. No gift at all to Linares.

It was a good fight and Loma pulled the win out in spectacular style and with an injury to rotator cuff, I think.

But Linares boxed very well and caught Loma clean.

Linares deserves a re-match, although probably not a priority for Loma ATM.
