When I had a bout my mind was only focused on my opponent. I honestly could not hear the cheers of the crowd or the instructions from my corner. I am sure other boxers have similar situations and there are others who can hear everything. I tend to focus on my opponent that everything else was drowned out by my own thoughts. Fighting in front of a crowd or not would probably only lead to nervousness in fighters etc. Maybe we get better fights when the fighters can focus on each other and not worry about the crowd.
