Dmitriy Salita believes a Laila Ali-Claressa Shields fight would be beneficial for women's boxing. Even though Shields is 17 years younger and Ali hasn't boxed in 13 years, Shields' promoter feels that pay-per-view event still would attract a lot of positive attention to women's boxing. Salita just doesn't think the 42-year-old Ali is actually serious about coming back to fight Shields.

If Salita thinks it’s a good PPV for women’s boxing then go speak to Espinoza and see what lucrative guarantee he‘ll be down for. Would be funny doe if Ali actually beat Shields then what does Showtime have left for Shields while Ali walks away with a nice payday.

I think for shields ( a 2 time Olympic champion , for what it worth in fledgling female Olympic history ) at 25 to be calling out a 42 yr old that hasn't fought in over a decade is not serious in itself , and what the powers that be are thinking of with PPV aspirations I do not know , never in a million yrs would that sell . Salita has been in the game long enough .. he knows it's going nowhere and if he's that confident then guarantee Ali's end of a demanding fixed purse ?
