  • Comments Thread For: Floyd Mayweather Passionate To Become Great Trainer, Ellerbe Says

In November, Floyd Mayweather announced that he was coming out of retirement. In January, he shared a poster portraying a rematch with Conor McGregor. In recent weeks, Mayweather has been increasingly documenting his time in the gym while maintaining that he's once again retired. Instead, he's pivoting to now become a trainer.

I’m not a Floyd fan but I’d love to see him emulate Uncle Roger and continue the family tradition.

I see this being more of a publicity stunt type thing though tbh.

He’s going to be a god awful trainer.

In partial agreement with 2 above posters..

I think he's the potential to be very successful, however I struggle to see how he's going to move aside his ego to fully throw everything into it... Eventually it will appear.

in between rounds he'll tell his fighters how many cars he owns and the smart investments he's made with the odd shouting of 'all work is what?'

He won’t have the time to dedicate to a fighter so not gonna work what he gonna do cancel a function to train a fighter for free I think not

Floyd plans to garnish 90% of future fighter checks and spread them all on the table while saying, “my fighters will never beat my record and they pay me too.”

I think he can be a great trainer but don't work with OLD Washed Up Veterans instead build up young fighters from the ground up.

If he can install his work ethic into younger fighters that would be great!

He is needed for the young American Amateurs more than just the guys who are already Pros
