Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: We Must Make Statement, Canelo-GGG Has To Happen!

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya, who promotes Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, says his company is very focused on finalizing the trilogy fight with IBF middleweight champion Gennadiy Golovkin. The trilogy is being targeted for a date of September 12th, which all depends on the restrictions during that period with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

He needs to stop talking for Canelo. Hasn’t he learned that already?

Officially, a draw and a win for Canelo. And GGG is just getting older and declining. Absolutely zero reason to have a 3rd fight.

Not interested but I guess I'll watch since I have a year subscription to DAZN.

Saul ducked G when he called him in the ring then gave up the belts. Fought to a bs draw, then got popped for peds. Then won a thin md. Then claimed he didnt need nor want to fight G anymore. DLH repeated it as well. Now this...Smfh

Will DA-ZASTER just give up before it's to late and they lose all their investors money. It doesn't matter when 3G v Nelo III takes place, it will not be successful. I'm not hating but just stating facts. If they make it the first fight when boxing comes back it's going to do horrible because asking someone to pay 100 bucks for a yearly subscription is D.O.A. Most people won't even want to 20$ for the one fight because quite honestly DUDES ARE BROKE! Most boxing fans in America are middle class and poor folks and with the unemployment rate just hitting 20% don't bet on people paying for unnecessary Apps. If their choices are FOX (free) ESPN (4.99) SHOWTIME (10.99) and DAZN (20/100) then the decision won't be that hard. Especially since boxing is the only content DAZN offers while the other three platforms offer a lot more than just boxing. So hopefully at some point this year DA-ZASTER catches CORVID19 and just freakin die already. Get boxing in America back on just two platforms which hopefully (and I stresssss hopefully) makes fight making a lot easier. I said it before and I'll say it again, Canelo should have never left PPV. His cap is 35 milly per fight. If he would have partnered with Stephen Espinosa and Showtime PPV he would be making well over 100 milly per fight. PPV bouts against Charlo and Andrade (black v Mexican) would be very lucrative. Other fights vs 3G, Benevediz, Caleb Plant would net him 4 to 5 times per fight the amount he gets with DAZN. He needs a new financial team ASAP! But I guess when the head of your team is a coke addicted drunk who has a fetish for allowing hookers to stick kitchen utensils up his arse, then you get what you pay for.

How is it that Canelo never signed to face Saunders? They announced the fight late to begin with yet he still held off on signing? Wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that vada can't test you if the fight isn't officially signed. Looks shady.. (especially if his 24/7 vada testing expired over the summer as was reported). Either way, Saunders didn't deserve the fight to begin with.
