  • Comments Thread For: Santa Cruz: If Tank Doesn't Want To Fight, My Second Option Is Gary Russell

Like every other boxer in present day, Leo Santa Cruz is unsure of when he will return to the ring. What he remains certain of, is the short list of high-profile opponents he plans to face once the sport as a whole is given full clearance to resume. The three-division and reigning junior lightweight titlist was on course to defend his current strap versus undefeated former two-time 130-pound champ Gervonta Tank' Davis (currently a secondary lightweight titleholder) atop a Pay-Per-View budgeted for late spring or early summer. The timeframe was forced to shift due to the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, although such a fight remains his first order of business.

"If Tank doesn't want the fight" C'mon Leo, stop playing! This has been the plan all along from Tank and his team.

Tank wont be moving back down to 130 he lacks the discipline to make weight. I do thing GRJ can beat Leo though in a good fight.

Would anyone else rather see LSC vs GRJ at 126 or 130?

Santa Cruz vs Russell is a great fight IMO. The punch output would be insane, plus it’s personal.

                Yes , great fight
Stank won’t even come close to making 135 let alone 130 lol
But if they can get GRJ to commit , this would be a great fight
Stank and his groupies will be yelling duck and whatnot but honestly , who gives a fugh
We all know what Stank is about

YES! I don't think Tank can (nor should) make 130 lbs. again. LSC vs. GRJ @ 130 would be a better match-up. Haney vs. Davis @ 135 would be even better!
