Comments Thread For: 20 Boxing Places To Visit When This Pandemic is Over

Boxing has a rich history. We wish more could have been done to salvage the Kronk, to make sure we don't lose our history before it's too late. There's often a call for a Hall of Fame in the UK. There was a hugely popular pop-up Muhammad Ali exhibition at London's O2 Arena a few years ago but there are places and things to see that will either be there forever or won't be for much longer. Here, in no particular order, are 20 sights for fight fans to visit once this period of self-isolation due to coronavirus is over.

If checking out York Hall, go see Repton Boxing Club aswell, the original location is very close-by (16 Victoria Park Sq, now residential flats), which is where people were training in the 50s/60s. The current location is not that far away either, less than a mile westerly

Another bit of boxing history for UK if you're ever in Brighton is a plaque for Tom Sayers, it's at the north end of Orange Row, outside a music equipment shop there

Fantastic article! The Blue Anchor & the Seven Stars in Helston, Cornwall are both worth a visit as is the local museum with has a Bob Fitzsimmons collection (Shame there's no statue, even though there's a plaque were he was supposed to have been born). Wales also has a lot to offer, Merthyr Tydfil in particular with many statues & pubs. London pub's The Ring & the Tom Cribb are okay, but not a patch on the old Thomas a'Beckett & Henry Cooper on the old kent rd, Royal oak, Camdon town & Goldern Gloves on the Fulham Palace Rd which are sadly not with us any more. I had some great times in these places in the past, so as the saying goes, "support your local Pub"!!.....

                13. York Hall - should be higher in the list. It’s the only venue that encapsulates the feeling of watching a fight in a pub and the view is incredible wherever you are.

Just reminds me that the golden contract is not on :’(

MSG was ok. First time I went to NY (nearly 20 years ago) I was baffled how it was named when the building is round.. of course a little history lesson told me it's the location..

Not fussed with Vegas, a few mates have been and mixed reviews but not a place I'm that fussed about..

Like to go Philly on a break at some point and take some places in but it's finding something to interest the missus to trade NY or San Fran
