Comments Thread For: Haye: I Believe Usyk Has Miscalculated How Good Chisora Is

Former two division world champion David Haye, who manages heavyweight Derek Chisora, believes Oleksandr Usyk has underestimated his man. Usyk and Chisora were scheduled to fight on May 2 in Manchester, but the fight was pushed back due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Chisora has limits, I like Del boy, but we've seen him lose every way you can. Decision , in the corner, on his back. What Usyk is worried about is, he's not a real heavyweight, not a monster either. Killer 200 pounder, survivor beyond 230. He looked sluggish last out, that isn't good considering he was just testing the water.

It depends how well he deals with Chisora’s pressure and how good Chisora’s engine is for the fight. If Chisora is in shape and keeps taking the fight to him, he won’t have the power and strength to keep him off, so will need to constantly move and pick him off. Which is how I see the fight going early.

Chisora will lose heart and Usyk will step on the gas late on and start taking risks once Chisora has slowed.

      Usyk by late stoppage.

I see it the same way for different reasons. If Chisora had respect, he would fight conservatively, but he's going after Usyk. He'll swat at him and if / when he doesn't connect, he'll wear himself out. The ring size will be interesting too, a small ring is a big plus for Delboy.

I thought was going to fight Chisora earlier but opted for Witherspoon instead.

Olek Usyk is going to wash this overrated English-Bum, like Kubrat Pulev.

If Usyk uses his loaf and dodges Chisora onslaught in the early rounds then it will be a comfortable evening for him I think. Chisora doesn't have a boxing brain imo and for me will no doubt go for an early KO. I think its a tactic he has to use because I don't think he'd go the distance. Chisora is one of those pros that are just scrapping pro level but not good enough to get anywhere decent.. his mouth will make sure his monatery career will be ok.

As for Usyk, the size is the only thing that bothers me.

Joseph Parker would be the real test for both these guys.
