Comments Thread For: Brook: I've Done Everything To Make Khan Fight Happen; Still Gone Nowhere

When Eddie Hearn mentioned Kell Brook to Amir Khan a couple weeks ago during an Instagram Live interview, Khan asked if Brook could still make 147 pounds. Whereas the weight is Khan's concern, the long-discussed domestic showdown between these British rivals is more about the wait for Brook. The former IBF welterweight champion told Hearn as part of his own Instagram Live interview Friday that he essentially has grown tired of waiting for Khan to agree to fight him.

As a UK boxing fan who has followed both careers I'd be very surprised if anyone held Brook accountable for this.

To be fair to Brook he's been after this fight for nearly 10 years. I remember Khan telling him to win a World title first so that tells you how long it's been going on for. From there it's just been excuse after excuse which was a shame because when they were both at their sharpest it would have been a great fight. Still think Brook would have timed him and flopped Khan mid to late but he may have been down on the cards at the time. You can easily forget how good Khan was at 140lb when he was motivated on staying conscious and fighting 'scared.'

Brook should have moved on from this debacle years ago. Personally I never want to see him fight at 147 again, just not sporting. He's been making that weight since he was 18.

Khan doesn’t want to give Brook the satisfaction of a win by TKO. Which is what would likely happen.

Khan obviously can’t take a punch which is why he resorted to bringing up a Super Featherweight Billy Dib to 147 as a comeback win after quitting against Crawford.

Losing to Brook would be the ultimate loss for him. He probably won’t be able to live that down.

Khan should not be a boxer any more. He has nigh on some of the worst punch resistance ever for a boxer of his level.

The only reason this fight is still wanted is because people waited so long for it, were kind of promised it. Otherwise it's not really that great a fight really. More to do with beef between them.
But still some fights for brook against crawford

Seems to be a common theme with uk rivalries that the A side always seems to want to blow off their domestic rival that wants to fight them. Khan with Brook. Hatton with witter. Calzaghe with Froch. Let's see if fury vs Joshua ever happens.

They have both been chicken schizers and a fight won't happen. Too much has gone on between the two...

They have both run the mouths off to the point where defeat for either boxer will result in total humiliation from the country/boxing world and ultimately I wouldn't be surprised of a suicide not long after.... I really think it's that's bad.

This fight should have happened far too long ago. Dare I say it when both could box rather than near on washed up.....
