  • Comments Thread For: Berchelt: Valdez Had Broken Jaw, Moving Up In Weight; Shouldn't Trade With Me

Whenever he encounters Oscar Valdez, Miguel Berchelt expects the former featherweight champion to try to box him. Berchelt believes Valdez and his respected trainer, Eddy Reynoso, realize trading with him would be a bad idea. Mexico's Berchelt talked about his 130-pound title fight versus Valdez during an interview with Top Rank's Lupe Contreras, which was conducted Tuesday on that promotional company's YouTube channel.

I got to agree with Miguel, Oscar Valdez is constantly getting hit flush on the jaw and literally had his mouth wired shut by Scott Quig.

I'll be surprised if Oscar Valdez is still fighting in five years : Valdez is young in his prime, that's the only explanation for his resilience.

You got that right. Oscar is more tough than skilled. He beat Quigg with heart, not boxing or movement. He threw more in the trenches, but still took shots until the end.

I gained respect for Quigg in that valiant performance away from home, credit to Valdez for showing true grit. Miguel Berchelt should overwhelm Oscar Valdez in similar fashion as Scott Quigg, likewise, Valdez will have to go through the grind for a victory, but I see Valdez getting stopped inside 10 rounds.

Funny how some numbnut called Valdez a disgrace. Also threw in a sidekick Zurdo.? I doubt they speak much if ever but if so great! Trying figure if dude is upset with Valdez or Zurdo or Top Rank??
Anyway, Valdez and Berchelt are two of the best. Tough as you get and that fight is going to be all one would expect. As long as it gets past 3 rds. That should be enough to get the cobwebs out and let those two go at it.
MB saying all the right things but he's got to be loving the fact Valdez seems all tied up with this new trainer. Tied up in a restraining sense. He just doesn't look comfortable.
