    March 23, 2020:

Bob Arum: Pacquiao is an old man, he doesn’t want Crawford

Arum has always said he didn’t want to make the fight, even when he promoted both of them, because he doesn’t see it as competitive, and because he maintains a soft spot for Pacquiao. The two did make a lot of money, after all.

Now, Arum is adding that Pacquiao doesn’t actually want that fight, and didn’t before.

“Pacquiao don’t want to fight. Leave Pacquiao alone. He’s an old man,” Arum told our colleagues at Fight Hub TV.

“He doesn’t want to fight Crawford. He didn’t want to fight Crawford when I was promoting him. There’s no disgrace in Pacquiao not fighting Crawford. Pacquiao is not competitive with Crawford. He’s a great fighter still, but he’s not competitive.”

    April 14, 2020:

Bob Arum calls Pacquiao vs Crawford ‘real possibility’

Well, that was an abrupt about-face.

Less than a month after bluntly stating his disinterest in pitting Manny Pacquiao against Terence Crawford in a WBA/WBO welterweight unification match, Bob Arum now tells iFL TV that the fight is “a real possibility” and “one of the things that we’re working on.”

Top Rank’s head honcho does have some qualifiers, though, namely the need for a site fee or other compensation from the hosting country due to the ongoing worldwide economic struggles. They would also need to lower the stateside pay-per-view rates, which Arum calls “too high to begin with,” as asking for $80 is a hard sell in these times.

If they do manage to get the necessary funds, though, Arum claims “Pacquiao wants to fight Crawford and Crawford wants to fight Pacquiao.”

I wish Spence didn't have that accident. People have been calling him out so much now. I wonder why, smh. Crawford is very ****y. He really hasn't fought anyone......His stature reminds me of Kovalev before he met Ward. Kovalev had a very impressive record with mediocre victories over the likes of a can't really box Pascal and a very overrated Hopkins. But then he faced a legitimate opponent in Ward. A healthy Spence will be a legitimate opponent.

If Bud wanted to fight Thurman, Spence, Porter, DSG, Mikey, or Pacquiao, he would be with PBC. He decided to sign an extension with Top Rank. Enjoy Crawford vs. Brook!

Lets just say Crawford might have an edge in skill and they have same power but Spence has better chin. If someone is getting knocked out, it could be Crawford.

No matter what happens from here on out Spence has a built in excuse to fall back on and I'm not saying Bud beats him but eventually the wreck excuse will come into play for him

When did Crawford realize that ALL of the top WWs were with PBC? Was that before or after he signed an extension? Why would Crawford sign an extension with Bob Arum after Oscar left, Floyd left, Cotto left, and Mikey left (and eventually Pacquiao too)? Does he know something they don't? They are all way more successful than he is! I like Bud, but he's definitely not the sharpest knife in the drawer!
