  • Comments Thread For: Wallin Doing Well, Aims To Work His Way To Tyson Fury Rematch

According to Dmitriy Salita, the promoter for heavyweight contender Otto Wallin, his fighter is motivated to work his way back to a rematch with Tyson Fury. Last September, Wallin was very close to shocking the world when one of his punches opened up a severe cut above Fury's right eye. A second would open up a few rounds later.

Let's be honest with ourselves Wallin could have very well just had the night of his life. I wanna see him in with a few top guys before I even consider him a contender. Like a Helenius for instance and I'm not saying Helenius is a top dog or nothing but fights like that will tell us where Wallin stands in reality.

Even though he had a decent first fight I can't see him being on Fury's radar anytime in the near future.. unless wallin surprises everyone and makes his way to top contender and then we know that means squat...

Tbf He had the fight of his life and Fury wasn't in the greatest of shapes and Fury still out boxed him pretty easily.. the bad cut made it look a closer fight imo.

It's more intriguing than Fury-Wilder 3 but not intriguing enough to honestly believe it could materialize.

That's what I think too. The Helenius fight would be a good one, he's coming off a big, surprise win, so it's a high ranking fight. Wallin seems to have something about him, but needs some contender fights to get himself proven. Helenius, Takam, Washington even. If he can prove himself a level above those, that would be a good starting point toward world level.

Wallin definitely isn't a bum but he's almost 30 and couldn't finish a 1 eyed Fury so I doubt he'll ever win a HW title or earn a rematch with Fury.

Even a Charles Martin fight. Though I dont really see much about Martin that excites me it's a good name and decent fight to get.
