If I were to guess, I would say there will be no boxing events in 2020 due to virus

If you look at it, the promoters kept rescheduling boxing events, then decided to do closed door no fans, then now canceled or postponed.

Eddie Hearn keeps moving back his fights to the next month, then the next month.

There is not going to be anymore boxing or sporting events that will be allowed with large groups of people in attendance for a year and a half at most or until a vaccine is readily available.

No May, No June, No July, or August, the summer is out of the picture.

This is a serious pandemic and highly contagious it can stay in the air for 2 days and if you inhale that cloud of virus where a person sneezes you will get it.

It also stays on money, paper bags, for 48 hours, it stays on plastic and metal for 3 to 5 days, it stays in water for 2 weeks etc.

There is no way we will see boxing again in 2020, no way possible and if they do it will be closed door only fighters and their trainers and camera people allowed no audiences

right now the government said no groups of more than 10 people allowed.

An astonishing number of viruses are circulating around the Earth's atmosphere - and falling from it - according to new research from scientists in Canada, Spain and the U.S.

The study marks the first time scientists have quantified the viruses being swept up from the Earth's surface into the free troposphere, that layer of atmosphere beyond Earth's weather systems but below the stratosphere where jet airplanes fly. The viruses can be carried thousands of kilometres there before being deposited back onto the Earth's surface.

"Every day, more than 800 million viruses are deposited per square metre above the planetary boundary layer--that's 25 viruses for each person in Canada," said University of British Columbia virologist Curtis Suttle, one of the senior authors of a paper in the International Society for Microbial Ecology Journal that outlines the findings.

"Roughly 20 years ago we began finding genetically similar viruses occurring in very different environments around the globe," says Suttle.

"This preponderance of long-residence viruses travelling the atmosphere likely explains why--it's quite conceivable to have a virus swept up into the atmosphere on one continent and deposited on another."

Bacteria and viruses are swept up in the atmosphere in small particles from soil-dust and sea spray.

Suttle and colleagues at the University of Granada and San Diego State University wanted to know how much of that material is carried up above the atmospheric boundary layer above 2,500 to 3,000 metres. At that altitude, particles are subject to long-range transport unlike particles lower in the atmosphere.

Using platform sites high in Spain's Sierra Nevada Mountains, the researchers found billions of viruses and tens of millions of bacteria are being deposited per square metre per day. The deposition rates for viruses were nine to 461 times greater than the rates for bacteria.

"Bacteria and viruses are typically deposited back to Earth via rain events and Saharan dust intrusions. However, the rain was less efficient removing viruses from the atmosphere," said author and microbial ecologist Isabel Reche from the University of Granada.

The researchers also found the majority of the viruses carried signatures indicating they had been swept up into the air from sea spray. The viruses tend to hitch rides on smaller, lighter, organic particles suspended in air and gas, meaning they can stay aloft in the atmosphere longer.

a lot of cities are on lock down with curfew and special restrictions being outside. Truth is you really can't FORCE everyone inside. No way to control such martial law with this Earth's population.

I think world leaders and scientists are trying to figure out the longetivity for what's in the air. I don't trust governments tbh, but I do believe they try their best with smoke and mirrors to calm the world. As I said before in the other forum, a lot of this biblical in context to mean that what people don't undestand they think the worst.

Hopefully, fighters are posting old training videos...but I could be wrong. I'm seeing some fighters and trainers do pad work with NO mask on, smh. Plain crazy.

When you're throwing punches, chances are, you're going to project small amounts of saliva...so, why won't the coach at least wear masks? I mean, nobody's saying they can't train fighters but use a bit more precaution.

I don't get all of the extra science behind viruses, but, I've been practicing cleanliness since Jesus was a baby. You actually have people go out to public restrooms and sit their bare asses on toilet seats when the seat covers are right next to them...AND they don't wash their hands after taking a stone cold shit. Smh

Hell, I routinely spray my OWN toilet seat at home throughout the week (in addition to "cleaning days") and I'm the only one that uses it.

THIS (to me) is how viruses continue to spread. It's like, damn...just do your part and stay clean for the sake of yourself and others near and/or dear to you. Sheesh.

yeah this is irresponsible and the police should shut them down, the virus is highly contagious especially in sweaty environment like that and if the sweat lands on you or you inhale the fumes you got it, the symptoms wont show up for 5 to 10 days open contact.

The fighters should know better, also only Bob Arum is honest he canceled everything and is not pushing it back the next month, because he knows the entire planet will be on lockdown quarantine for a year at least
