  • Comments Thread For: Showtime's Espinoza: Boxing Schedule Will Be Better Post Pandemic

Showtime Sports president Stephen Espinoza expects the boxing schedule to be a barnburner once the world and sweet science is back to regularly scheduled programming. Boxing events after mid-March, all the way through April and parts of May, have been snake bitten by the global pandemic that is coronavirus. But once boxing is back up and running, fans should expect to get a jam-packed calendar with a slew of new dates for all of its top combatsmen.

        Promoters like who?

Hearn and golden boy are putting fights on dazn.

Arum is putting fights on espn.

        Haymon is his only hope.

        Who's left?

I mean, it's not like Showtime's boxing schedule was overflowing with fights anyway. If anything, this "break from boxing" should give Showtime and Espinoza time to make bigger fights with rival promoters and so on.

I swear, if this pandemic doesn't bring boxing heads (promoters, networks, managers) together, then I know these guys are just money-hungry and full of *****.

At this point, fighters are missing paydays, fans aren't getting fights, and nobody's really getting paid like that....so, this pandemic should serve as an opportunity for handlers to set aside their differences, but what do I know?

sure, and then they can all run in slow motion through a field of sunflowers with their arms outstretched.

                  FÛÇK the Corona Virus.

The fucking mess that is going to happen is, when all sports desperately lock dates at the same time. This is going to be a competition.

I understand and I agree with you. For me, I hope your wishes become a reality. We need those promoter and network to work together and feed our hungers as boxing fans.
