By Tris Dixon - Who was Roger Mayweather's best fight against? Was he a better boxer or trainer? Which Mayweather was the best? Chances are, if you had to ask Roger any of the above, you might have been told that you didn't know, well, then you didn't know sh-- about boxing. In a sport of cliches, Roger The Black Mamba made that phrase his own. It was...

The eternal question who was the best? is forever a mistake, a fallacy, erroneous.

The idea of a 'chosen one' or 'one to rule them all' is obsolete, outdated and as irrelevant as asking Is there a God? Which religion is right? Who was the greatest leader of all time?

There are simply too many variables, uncontrollable factors, circumstances, changes, evolution and changes in application and approach to render any answer indubitable.

It's fun to discuss and debate P4P lists and GOAT, but it never need be taken seriously as there has never been a clear and distinguishable boxing deity or demi-god.

Of course, there are a group of fighters who may stand out or shine as superlative, sublime even, but not indisputably clear cut above all others.

Roger was a funny guy, a hell of a fighter and a hell of a trainer. He died relatively young unfortunately, but his legacy lives on.
