Comments Thread For: Fury-Wilder Trilogy Could Be Pushed Back, Says Warren

Frank Warren, who along with Top Rank promotes WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, says there is no guarantee that a trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder is come off in July. Last month, Fury dropped Wilder twice and eventually stopped him in the seventh round to capture the WBC world title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Yeah like the whole situation with boxing. I care nothing about any other sport. I keep up with other sports so I can converse with my brother about them. I love the sport of boxing though and this Covid-19 thing is really affecting my "chi" now.

This is probably the best thing for wilder, it will probably make a more competitive fight. He needs to get some help with coaching. I still got fury in any case, but a couple of months could prove pivotal in making this fight less one sided.

How much can he improve even with a year between fights ?? Wilder best chance is to come in his usual weight and do his normal thing if he tries to switch it up he will be like a fish out of water . The only realistic thing he can do is work behind the jab more to set up his right hand and that's not gonna work with fury. He will get out jabbed and fury will still bully his way to the inside . I dont see much wilder can do . Bring on AJ vs fury. Wilder can go back to fighting top 20 guys like hes always done . Now his aura is broken we are going to see him struggle more than he was in alot of his fights before he landed the one hitter quitter . I think a new team and switching it up at this moment is actually a negative for his chances in the rubber match . I give deontay full credit for running towards the fire and initiating his rubbermatch clause but I dont see it ending well for him , he has a punchers chance . If I was him I would take the step aside , let fury AJ fight ,hone my skills a bit with a few easy fights staying very active then get a contract with the step side to fight the winner or josh vs fury for the undisputed title . At least then he has better odds to pull off his " one face ,one name " lingo . He is in a tough spot now . It will be interesting to see how he looks in his next fight no matter who it is against . His psyches ability to recover will be the tell all factor .

Good God what an improvement that would be. He lands with his jab and his left hook when he bothers to throw them, but he puts himself so off balance to throw them that it looks like he should just send out haymakers. A coach that could help him with jabbing and balance could add a few more years to his career.

Bro, you have spoken my mind. I can't factor in a positive change regarding Wilder's boxing ability, trying to change at this stage of his career will make him become very unsure in the ring and that willen be the beginning of the end of his chances against someone like Fury or AJ.
