  • Comments Thread For: Team Usyk: Chisora First, Then We Expect Joshua Title Shot

The handlers for former undisputed cruiserweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk expect their boxer to get a world title shot at Anthony Joshua in 2020. At the moment, Usyk will take part in the second heavyweight fight of his career when he takes on Derek Chisora on May 23 at the O2 Arena in London.

In my humble opinion.. Aj don't want no Usyk problems and that's only reason he's so willing to fight fury i been paying attention and hearn already hinted they more likely tryna do aj-Whyte 2 and drop the WBO then face usyk. Aj already been KO'D So once he gets outboxed and loses a very lopsided decision his whole aura is totally gone and Eddie won't allow that to happen. General consensus when Josh beat Ruiz was that with his titles back he would HAVE to face wilder fury, usyk and anyone else at the very top to really redeem himself. But I knew Eddie would be making sure they don't take any fights where they ain't at least the 70% favourite hence why we getting pulev now an not usyk!! And Joshua will do as always has which is allow Eddie to take the flak for him which he loves to do! I have friends from his area grew up with Joshua and they all make clear that the dude looked at by people as a fraud personality. And I'll never forget the way his DM's to Eddie chambers were swept under the rug as though it never happened. Too many aj FanBoys in UK its rather cringey and Extremely Pathetic!! Grown @ss men drool over him!!! Skills pay the bills not abs! And that's why Tyson Fury is the GREATEST of his era by a country mile!! The man went on a 3 year drug/drinks binge! Gave all these other bums half a chance to beat him and NOT ONE are even remotely capable of it!! The so called "Hardest Hitting HeavyWeight Ever" couldn't even beat a drained out of shape rushed back version of fury in fight one and well we all know about fight two!! Long Live the Gipsy King (In My 1HourRun Voice!!?)

Its good to see that Usyk dream big. Still he is seem too small to dominate HW division. Joshua beat him easily in a wide UD...

I think Usyk beats AJ but he may not beat Chirosa. Styles make fights and Chirosa has that bulldog style that can create problems for Usyk unless he developed a serious amount of power since the Witherspoon fight.

I'm not exactly wowed by Usyk at heavyweight so far. He might just be too small.

You are entitled to your opinion; but the truth is that we all know that AJ has been saying that his dream is to unify the HW division. For that reason it makes sense for AJ wanting to fight Fury asp, and in that case unification fight proceeds mandatory according to the rules. So therefore, if AJ and Fury win their next fight the fight for undisputed HW can be made at the end of year despite the mandatory obligations.

I didn't say it couldn't? I'm saying it would of been far less likely rushed on his behalf if usyk wasn't a mando. Also had wilder obliterated fury aj and hearn would of ran anmile! Josh doesn't need more belts to sell.. The fan boys in this country have took care of that. What AJ and Eddie say and do are complete different things!. People on here are so quick to blame wilder for not taking a poxy offer to fight aj but he ain't the only boxer who came out talking about been lowballed by match room. You got a lot to learn kid, maybe do ya research? Have a good day my friend.

Agree with this and pretty much my thoughts.

I think AJ is a lot better than the current narrative but I think he would worry about looking foolish and start second guessing himself / use up far too much nervous energy.

I think Chisora can do very well against Uysk, but I can also see him losing interest in the fight and taking a bit of a beating.

In terms of size Usyk looks bigger than Chisora or just as big but what will the weight do to his movement? He is a fighter who likes using angles and good boxing but has he sacrificed all that for size? If he can’t move then Chisora will bash him and he might forget Joshua. If however he brings his movement with his size then he will cause ripples at heavyweight. I like the guy, he is a good fighter but weight divisions are there for a reason. Let’s see if he can beat gravity.
