Hahaha. I've heard this story a million times. Feed the hype 100 gardeners, preferably Mexican, to truly make this fairy tale credible. 2 years from now get exposed by a class C fighter only to say it was a bad night. It all goes to sheeeeettt from then and fan boys abandon hype wagon.

yeah, these Ricans fighters have been trash for a while now. So what better way to pad their records than to feed them bum Mexican fighters. Mexico has a high amount of pro boxers and of them, maybe 3% or less are top fighters. The rest are trash so it's known that if you want to pad your record, you fight Mexicans.

It is interesting how fans just bail on their fighters like Ricans did with verdejo and more recently Matias. Not too different from when Mexican fans went from celebrating Andy ruiz to jumping off the bandwagon just 6 months later. Or bailing on Chavez Jr after he kept quitting. Guess that's just how fans are.

yes, I've seen Mexicans be harsh critics of their own fighters. I've seen some outright bash canelo for his shady scorecards and diva ways... But I've also seen a bunch of them support him of regardless what he does, including using PEDs and cherry picking. Still can't believe 1 mil people bought canelo vs Chavez Jr. That was mainly because of a loyal Mexican fan base that got played for fools. Guys like Barrera, morales and Marquez deserve a ton of respect for how and who they fought. Don't feel the same way about today's guys such as Canelo and Santa Cruz. Mexican boxing is not what is used to be.

Amanda Serrano is the only one representing Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico boxing is not the same after Hurricane Maria and also the island is small and people believe they are going to produce elite fighters like big countries.
