A bout which has been in discussion for months appears to have finally found a home. Or at least a fight date. The long-ago agreed-to welterweight clash between Kudratillo Abdukakhorov and Sergey Lipinets will likely land on a May 16 show to be presented by Premier Boxing Champions (PBC), sources from both sides have alerted BoxingScene.com. A location has yet to be determined although the greater Los Angeles area has been mentioned as a candidate to host the bout, which will come with the International Boxing Federation (IBF) interim welterweight title at stake. The winner will be first in line for a mandatory shot at unified welterweight titlist Errol Spence Jr.

It's a pretty damn good fight, they're fairly well matched and the styles mesh works... neither of 'em really stands much hope against Spence however. Nice scrap between a coupla lower end top 10 Welters.

You really are brain damaged, GaymonsWhore. Lipinets last fight was against some cab driver ranked in the lower top 200 on Pacquiao-Thurman's early prelims. Fight of the year doe. PBC don't even care about him, that's why he's been sitting on a shelf for 7 months. Very generous of Arum to throw his scraps to TGB & PBC after getting the much better fights with Ramirez-Postol and Inoue-Casimero.

Ha ha... buzy as ever, man, just had a few days away with the kids, but work's slow this time of year anyways - that's why I started that thing with the prospect focus threads.

But yeah, naturally we'll have to wait and see if Spence has been affected in some way by the crash - touch wood he's fine. Honestly though unless he's lost more than a step he should be able to handle either one of these potential challengers though neither will be there to lie down. Actually, now I think about it I reckon it should be just about the right level for his comeback.. tough enough to show whether he's firing on all cylinders but still winnable even if he's not quite where he was.
