While most boxers hit their prime around 27 or 28, I agree with Fury that Wilder is in his prime now. But I dont believe he is at the pinnacle of his prime. Though he may be close to it. Wilder started boxing at 21, and there really is a phenomena of in ring age, and I think right now, Wilder can be compared to a 29 to 30 year old boxer. Which means I believe he will peak within the next two years, and then begin that inevitable decline, which can be a quick decline for most Heavyweights. But who really knows, this is not exactly a science - and most primes are attributed to a fighter when he begins to defeat top opponents, which for most fighters is in there late 20's, for Wilder due to his late start, began in his 30's.

Its a fair point, he’s insinuating he doesn’t think Wilder can improve in this fight. He’ll either stay at the level he is or go down hill.

The problem with some articles is they don’t provide context. It’s not some random comment. I heard him say it in an interview where they asked if it’ll be a better wilder

Wilder makes a mockery of boxing. Probably got the least amount of boxing ability of any champ in eons but goddamn he got the equalizer of equalizers. It wins fights and that's what counts. I'd love to see Kownacki rushing him and seeing how he handles that.
