  • Comments Thread For: Wilder vs. Fury Rematch: On Boxing Hyperbole

By Cliff Rold - Of course, it depends on the math. The math came to mind listening to a recent advertisement for this weekend's big heavyweight clash. It called it the fight of the decade.' If one counts out their decades on a strict calendar accuracy, 2020 is the final year of this decade. Counting them in the spirit of how we often recall time, 2020 is...

Overhyped boxing fight, watching this anyway via ******ing. Good luck to both fighters!

The fight of the decade isn't this one. It will be Klitschko-Fury even though it was a bore fest; but if Fury wins this fight it can pass as the fight of the decade

It's a good fight between two of the top three heavyweights and one I'm intrigued by. No need to oversell it.

I have to disagree, Klitchko was past his prime, beating up turds for 10 straight years because the division was a joke.

Fury is the first person he fought with the size to match him, and he was obviously rattled by the fact that he couldn't just hold his left arm out and keep his opponent 10 feet away at all times. Klitchko was overrated and Fury was on the juice as well, people don't mention that fact enough.

It's only just thrilling enough that the hyperbole comes off as cheesy and misplaced, contrived.

But that's usually the case as the scribe wrote.

All I want to see is Fury sit down more on his punches and trade a bit more, which might be asking too much; I also have a feeling these two are probably quite chummy behind the scenes and Fury with his love of WWF or whatever may very well be doing his bit to play the part and engage in the high-jinx all too well.

I expect this to be an average fight. MD Wilder. Again. sigh.
