Comments Thread For: Fury: Not Sure About Pound For Pound, But I Will Be Best Heavyweight Of My Era

Rare is the occasion where heavyweights are passionately mentioned in any given pound-for-pound debate. That suits Tyson Fury just fine, as the discussion never comes up in his circles. Nor will he give the mythical topic a single thought regardless of how things play out in his upcoming heavyweight title fight rematch with fellow unbeaten heavyweight Deontay Wilder (42-0-1, 41KOs).

Idk if just beating Wilder would make him the best of the era. Now beating Wilder, Whyte, and Joshua for his last 3 fights would definitely make him the best tho.

Fury needs to defend a World title before he can be considered as one of the best!

Defend a world title against tomato cans like Wilder you mean? Best fighter of this era is Vitali, so it doesn't matter.

Defeating Wilder with no title defenses doesn’t get you that , there’s a lot of selective memories Bowe also avoided Lewis ,even though Lewis lost he had the better resume making him the dominating heavyweight of his era .

Fury needs the AJ win to get that . People are also saying AJ took an L but Wilder did first had the correct decision been given .

He also was the first to beat Wlad out of the current crop of HW, so it isn’t as if ALL he did was beat Wilder

Beating Wilder isnt enough he’s had a title before and didnt defend it once. At least win and defend it against the best this era has to offer.

Fury needs to beat Wilder and Joshua to be the best of this era. The same thing applies to Joshua and Wilder too cleaning up the division

Fury wishes. He needs to fight a better quality of opponent. Wilder would be a great victory but he's only fought one opponent in the current top 10.

Fury's whole career has been about beating ok fighters and then taking one-off shots at a picked champion. Wlad was old and near retirement and Wilder isn't a great boxer so Fury feels he has a chance against them
