Comments Thread For: Wilder: Steward Makes No Difference, No Excuses From Fury

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is not buying Tyson Fury's reasoning to make an unexpected trainer switch ahead of the biggest fight of his career. Last month, Fury shocked observers when he replaced trainer Ben Davison, who worked with the heavyweight for his last five fights. Fury would later announced SugarHill Steward as his new trainer.

The Stewards are long time friends of the Haymon family... Godfather Haymon is the one who put Stewards nephew in Adonis Stevensons camp and sent him other fighters as well... Sugar is sending all Camp Updates to PBC HQ every week... #CheckMate #PBConFOX

If true it's sad they need a spy to beat Fury. Guess Uncle Al has to write more checks to try and keep that belt on Wilder.

Oh, don't forget the cut on his eye! "He shouldn't of taken the fight, but Wilder forced him to do it!" I can hear that coming!

Well Wilder should focus on boxing more! But I'm sure he has his mindset on I can knock him out. He's not going to change in 6 months. No matter what they train for. Everybody say he waited for Ortiz...Nah Ortiz made a error by standing in a straight line and got caught. Wasn't anything Wilder did but throw the punch.

Why change trainers don’t blame Ben for Otto beating you like that. Fury is not the same fighter he has aged a ton in just one yr.

we all know fury can’t deal with success and it shows.

Fury only fights well when he has nothing to lose.

I feel bad because I like Fury However on 2/22 he is going to suffer a brutal knockout which will forever change his career

Lol... Just trying to imagine how a trainer can equip a boxer with enough boxing adjustments to avoid the right hand from a very athletic heavy weight for 12 entire rounds.

And I hope, time is not being waisted trying to turn Fury into a KO artist.

This!!! Saw a lot of people saying this but in reality it was Ortiz that kept him from landing that punch all night because Wilder was damn sure to get it all night.

1 thing I noticed about Wilder is that if you keep his right hand busy he won't throw it as much. But if you stand there and pose too long without occupying that right hand he's gonna launch that sh-it & if it lands clean God bless you.

Fury did a good job of keeping Wilder from throwing straight rights. He was mostly throwing wild hooks that Fury saw from a mile away and he either rolled with them or ducked under. That first kd was the result of two punches to the back of Furys head. The 2nd was a straight right & clean left on the way down after Fury posed for too long
